Getting Defensive

The Tarheels rode their defense to the ACC Championship. The Tarheels only gave up 58.3 points per game in the tournament and held their three opponents to 37.1% field goal percentage. The Tarheels forced 39 turnovers, blocked 13 shots, had 22 steals in the three games. The defense played lights out basketball against Notre Dame and Virginia, two of the best shooting teams in the ACC. Those two teams only shot a combined 30.2% from the three point line. The Tarheels won a grind it out game against Virginia and they out defensed the best defensive team in the ACC.
